Family Court Reform
of Nevada County

Arbitration Award

Here is a synopsis of the Nevada County Family Court situation from independent arbitrator Christopher Burdick, Esq.

“To this Arbitrator, these judicial and administrative top-down positions and directives seem contrary to the mandates of the code and rules and appear calculated simply to push more cases more quickly through the ER process, an approach based on quantity over quality, numbers over depth, with disregard for the discretion and judgment granted to mediators under the code and not calculated to protect the “best interests of the child”. Gallup had reasonable, bona fide concerns and beliefs about all this, she raised them repeatedly, and she paid the price for doing so.”  Click here to see the arbitration award in its entirety.
